When most people think of heart disease they only think of adults, but heart disease can affect even the tiniest patients...
A Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) simply means a heart defect that is present at birth. Many people are unaware that CHDs are the number one birth defect and the leading cause of death among infants. Twice as many children die each year from a CHD than from all forms of Pediatric Cancers combined, yet funding for pediatric cancer research is five times that of research for CHDs.
The Elle Foundation hopes to change this. Through increasing awareness of CHDs and raising money for research and advancement of treatments, we hope to improve and save lives of those affected by CHDs. Thank you for visiting our website and please consider making a donation to create hope for these little hearts.
The Elle Foundation is a 501(c)3 certified charity as recognized by the IRS. Donations made to The Elle Foundation are tax deductible. You can feel especially great about donations made to The Elle Foundation because we are run on a 100% volunteer basis!
