RUN FOR THEIR HEARTS
Our 'RUN FOR THEIR HEARTS' initiative helps raise both money and awareness for Congenital Heart Defects. If you are running in any race - any distance, any date, any location and would like to run for Congenital Heart Defects, simply make a minimum $100 donation to the Elle Foundation and we'll send you a dri-fit shirt (in black, pink or gray) to run in. You can donate the money yourself or seek sponors to help you raise the money. This is a great way to honor someone special in your life who may have a CHD or be touched by CHDs in some way. Shirts are donated so the full amount of your donation will go help those with CHDs and your donation is tax deductible.
You don't have to donate money to support the Elle Foundation!
Instead of doing your internet searches through your old search engine, use www.goodsearch.com. Goodsearch is a yahoo powered search engine that donates 1 cent for every search to your favorite charity. You can also shop through Goodsearch from more than 600 major retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, BestBuy, etc. Those retailers then donate a portion of the purchase price of your items to your designated charity and often offer special discounts, like free shipping, for going through Goodsearch to make your purchase. It's that simple. Just make sure you choose "Elle Foundation" before you start searching or shopping. You can also download a Goodsearch toolbar and/or make Goodsearch your homepage. To date the Elle Foundation has raised more than $1,000 thanks to our supporters searching and shopping online.
FUNDRAISE
Hold your own fundraiser. There are many easy fundraisers you can do. For example: Denim Days (employees at your workplace make a small donation to wear jeans on Friday to benefit the Elle Foundation), or hosting a party (many organizations, like The Pampered Chef, Stella & Dot, etc.) allow the hostess will donate a portion of the sales to the charity of your choice in lieu of free items). You can even donate the proceeds of a yard sale or car wash. You can also ask your family and friends to make a donation to the Elle Foundation in your honor, in lieu of birthday gifts.
